The crickets have returned to the fields that dot the countryside near the Filthy City. Slowly they have infiltrated our infrastructure. The scuttling ones tell me that the attack is near, and that a plague of crickets will be upon us, heralded by the creaks in the dark. Fortunately the leopard frogs are about to engage their annual breeding program resulting in a mass exodus of frogs from the swamplands. Between them and the toads I don't think the crickets will stand much of a chance. Still, it never hurts to be prepared. Penelope the Cannibal Turtle is now free to wander the grounds of Grimm Estate and Grimm Tower is guarded as always.
The latest attacks on the Tower though have been more subtle than those of the crickets. Leaches, eager to fix their lax spending responsibilities (blood-suckers) first attempted to weaken the Tower by making certain items used to run our day to day operations no longer exempt from taxation. They failed. Undeterred, they now seek to change how properties are taxed. They want to give low income home owners a break (hoo-rah) by giving them a partial lower tax rate on their homes. The more expensive a house the less of the home's value that will have this lower tax rate, and the rest will be a higher rate (tax the rich, give the poor a break -- not so bad). However commercial property owners will only fall under the higher rate and will thusly be used to cover more of the tax revenue that is currently being lost because of lower gas sales (less gas being sold = less tax dollars being collected on it) and overspending. Further the details of what the lower and higher rates will be hasn't been disclosed, and nor will it be until after elections take place. The leaches are either being sneaky or naive. Damage independent businesses and further damage an already crumbling financial infrastructure. Ultimately they're not doing the one thing that they should be doing; controlling their spending. Credit is no angel sent to save you, the city, state, or country. Rather it is the bane of all existence. Something the scuttling ones taught me years ago: Do not buy what you cannot afford. Save the economy -- burn your credit cards.
Time now for chocolate ice-cream and strawberry soda. |

So here is a question..... are you evil or are you good..... In so many "tests" I have taken am split between the both of them.... I am good because plainly I don't want to see people suffer. People should have any kind of love for those who just want to be cared and loved. For those who just care for their ultimate selves and just hurt people, I am the lioness. I don't think pain or death should be put upon those who don't deserve it , I think children are a form of innocents that are untouchable, and I believe that good does flow through peoples vanes..... I believe that the "truth" should prevail and always set you free in one form or another. I know I love those who are chosen in my heart, and I love them fully to the point where I would kill for them ..... Yes kill....... I know that greater good flows throughout the lives we live and fills us with the air we breath.... Same also goes for the evil as well. But it is up to us to create the actions of being human beings with an outcome to ultimately making a difference in some form of how we live. To be a stain on our memory...... But again, this can both be good or evil... My inner evil is like this.... sometimes I just want to get into a fight and rip someones face off. Doesn't matter if its a boy or a girl.... I just want to cause them harm..... I want to show them my dominance and that they will not fuck with this lady... You lay a hand on my anything that I don't approve of I will brake it off and shove it down your face. If you are coming at me in a vengeful form, I will ride you and torture you to a point where mercy will just be air to breath..... I will be your alpha and your plead for a pause in your pain! I will not be your foot stool. I will mop you up with my fists and rage..... I will prevail....
Your thoughts.....Current Mood: devious

Today the scuttling ones and I tangled with the IRS and put in a good showing, I think. I'm not sure I would as a governing body employ an organization that loses payments, but they did fix their mistake and now the Butterfly Fairy and I have a nice fat check coming to us. Of course it was our money to begin with, so we really aren't "getting" anything. Sort of a forced savings, really. In any case, here comes the money.
Last night there was fire and meat. There was also an Alex, and a few mosquitoes that kept the scuttling ones company. A cruise in Dead Reckoning along the riverside capped off the evening. Now the side of the river is crawling with the denizens of the Filthy City. They want another party, and in annual Filthy City tradition they shall have it.
Time now for a nap. |

The scuttling ones and I have seen the eyes of a predator before; beady, black, keen to notice any movement or way in. Where once I'd bristle I now calmly go about my business while the scuttling ones keep their own eyes watchful. It's good to be in good company, and certainly easier on the nerves. I remember once when the predators caught me be surprise. Sharp talons work swiftly, ripping aside skin and tissue to get at the bone. Then come the scavengers. Lost more than a little to those. Of course both predator and scavenger are just obeying their nature. Nothing personal or insulting about that. It's the way of the world. Which is why I keep a few predators of my own about. Penelope the Cannibal Turtle has proven a capable sentry, as has Spooky when it comes to the would-be flying intruders. Now the beady, black, keen eyes stay most often in the shadows just beyond the edge Grimm Estate. Best that it stays that way, I suppose. Time now for an egg sandwich and some orange soda. |

Today, I opened the umbrella on the balcony and saw a weird shadow on it. I closed it again to look and saw a cute little bat clinging to the fabric! The poor thing was probably even more startled than me! Too bad it flew away before I could take a picture...Current Music: Juno Reactor - God Is God

The scuttling ones and I did two things today that we haven’t done in far too long. The first was taking a long walk in the daylight hours from one side of town to the other. I had missed the satisfying sound of boots crunching along gravel, kicking up dust, all while the sun is high in the sky. We took in all there was to see along the way. It’s amazing what you’ll miss, even on a bike. If the devil’s in the details, then the devilish need to walk. Curious how it became summer and I hadn’t even noticed. The second thing we did was to break out the old 50’s “Robin Hood” bike and take it for a midnight ride. It’s no “The Bike” which is good, as The Bike is buried up at Stone Circle, a broken shell of what it used to be. Either that or it’s evil is festering in the earth, biding its time and waiting to rise once more. Heh. Such a vivid imagination I have. There are certain smells that summer brings with it; very distinct. Cat urine missed with the sticky sweat of plants, animals, and people. Sounds as well rekindle memories. Fans whirring in open windows, the distant hoots and hollers of rebellious youth who will not be put so easily to bed, and an occasional car driving by a few blocks down. These two methods of travel were once the only ones available to me. Simpler times without bills, taxes, or wondering what to make for dinner. Again. I used to have people to visit. The world got bigger. People moved away from each other, as did I. To a degree I miss my old stomping grounds, though in many ways they are much the same as the ones here. Time now for strawberry ice-cream and mint tea. |

The scuttling ones and I discovered that when cleaning with rust as an additive to floor polish, floor tiles that were once white will turn a lovely pink hue. I was also reminded yet again that my shape is in the form of "out of." Be that as it may, Grimm Tower is once again in a state of array that is organized and clean, minus a ton or so of radiator metal and piping. Not terribly exciting, but it is an accomplishment. This week consists of dealing with attrition, and setting things up for the weekend. The cycles are coming, and it sounds as though the Filthy City will be doubling in its population. My shotgun and I shall be watching the Tower closely. I like its windows intact, and alcove urine-free. Tomorrow is another day of orders and set up. Tonight we dine on popped corn and grape juice. |
